- Our lab had a great presence on 2017 WaterJAM with several oral and poster presentations. Shuai won the 1st in Wastewater category and Shiqiang won the 1st in Water category, both in the poster competition.

- New paper: "Simultaneous energy generation and UV quenchers removal from landfill leachate using a microbial fuel cell" has been accepted for publication in Environmental Science and Pollution Research.

- The EBBL team (Lu, Akshay, Syeed, and Shiqiang) won the 2nd place in the Environmental Challenge International (ECi) Competition on the Air & Waste Management Conference (Pittsburgh).

- Dr. He's promotion to a Full Professor has been approved by Virginia Tech Board of Visitors.

A great trip with great harvest: four oral presentations, seven poster presentations, and one participation in Student Water Challenge; Heyang won the poster competition in wastewater section ($1,000 prize), and Xuhui's team took the 2nd place in the Student Water Challenge.
